No Greater Peace

There is no greater peace
than glass on which I sail
-- till I become the sea
we breathe as one
at dusk, in evening’s indecision
we decide
resigning day – we welcome night
-- till we become the sky

as whisper wisps of white
extensions of our lives
unclasp their slender floating fingers
fondling the dusk
we greet the swells
-- till we become horizon

we kiss goodnight to pink – to violet – slow to grey
to black
to glass reflecting nothing more than self
-- till we become the peace
which knows no opposition . . .
